Overview
A brief introduction to Herald Provincial Park
Herald Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada. It is on the north shore of the Salmon Arm of Shuswap Lake, in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada. The park is some 30 minutes northeast of the city of Salmon Arm (by road). Herald Park contains a popular camping area, as well as a day use/picnic area. Large pebble beaches stretch along the southern boundary of the park. Walking and hiking trails exist throughout the park, including an easy 10-minute hike to the spectacular Margaret Falls.
The site of Herald Park was originally settled by the Herald family at the turn of the century and remained a family farm until the 1970s. The land was then turned over to the Provincial Government with the exception of the "homesite", where Ms. Jesse Herald continued to reside until her death.

Landed a prime spot
Through campnab we got an amazing site, with only a few trees and a small hill between our site and the beach. Yet it felt private. Loved it!
All hail Herald
Herald is the perfect site for families. It’s even better if your friends bring their families too. Herald has 2 killer beaches, one for humans, and one for humans and dogs. The water is gorgeous, the views are beautiful and the sites are private and forested. There is a little hike to the waterfalls which is short and sweet…so you can tick your hiking box with little effort. If you need to escape, or burn off some campfire drinks, you can peddle or hike up the forestry roads to a labyrinth of trails with epic views of the Shuswap. There is a huge field for playing games or gathering, a pretty little creek that splits the 2 sites, and the ranger station has ice and popsicles. The bridges over the creek, and the trails around the site make for awesome biking for the kids. You can bring and launch your boat, and beach it along the waterfront. There are a few insane campsites along the water in the reinecker side that have their own little beaches…so it’s worth using campnab to upgrade if you can! It also fills up insanely fast, so unless you’re organized, you may as well lean into the subscription. This place is an easy family fave.
Convenient Location
Forgot the burgers?! No problem, this park is a convenient 20 minutes from Salmon Arm to pick up anything you forgot in the craziness of packing.
Lots of beachfront area and a great playground. The older area is fairly shady but the newer area is quite open and can get hot. Very popular campground with tourists and the locals.
