One of our faves

Beautiful park. One of the best maintained parks we’ve ever been to. Has three beaches, one designated for dogs. Camp host was lovely and has a cooler of frozen treats and a snack cupboard! Had an excellent time!

Lake, bike and hike

Ellison is only 15 minutes from Vernon but it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere. The site itself has the standard playground and clean facilities you’d expect from a bc provincial site. It’s typically very busy, but the sites are pretty spread out under a canopy of giant trees. The waterfront is amazing, but a bit of a hike down…so I’d recommend a wagon so you can load up and save yourself multiple trips.

Heads up…the beach can be prone to duck lice in late august…so make sure to rinse off after swimming, and keep toddlers from sitting in the shallow water for any length of time.

Ellison is the perfect bikers getaway. The trail network has a big variety of ability levels and the views are incredible. The trails are also connected to the predator ridge trails, so if you can manage a climb up…you can reward yourself with a beer on the okanagan most epic patio at the Range restaurant. The hiking is awesome and totally doable for all ages.

Overall, Ellison is a great place to spend a weekend or a week….and Vernon is close enough for a quick supply top up. But you better use campnab because reservations go FAST.
