Camper reviews for Cultus Lake Provincial Park

Almost perfect!

Delta Grove is one of the campgrounds at Cultus Lake Provincial Park. It’s a smallish campground with approximately 60 campsites. This one books up really quickly given how close the campground is to the lake.

The campsites at Delta Grove have crushed rock pads and are generally pretty level. Most of the ones adjacent to the lake allow for easy beach access, which makes for a nice spot to have a morning coffee and look out at the view—or spend the entire day.

Delta Grove isn’t that private feeling. The campsites are a bit close, and the limited groundcover / shrubbery result in you seeing neighbouring campers. Also, there can be some amount of noise from the (surprisingly busy) road next to the park.

Potable water is made available from a number of spots in the campground. There’s also a full washroom facility near the entrance with flush toilets and warm showers.

We got out as a family this past weekend, as we got lucky with an alert for a lakeside opening. (We were doubly-lucky as the forecast switched from full rain to warm summer-like temperatures.) We spent much of our time there running from our trailer sauna to the lake for brisk autumn swims.

The hike up Teapot Mountain (across the road) is short and breaks up the day a bit. If you have kids, they’ll likely enjoy looking out for all of the “hidden” teapots and keeping count of how many they’ve spotted.

I suppose this is part of what makes Cultus Lake so special. It’s only an hour or two from Vancouver, allowing for a nice getaway—and it still has those mild coastal conditions that allow for camping late in the season.

Great location but mind the rodents

Great location, close to the lake and we quiet (we were near the top of the camp ground). But I was warned by friends about the rodents (mostly mice) at night getting into things and they were certainly right. Make sure all food is sealed up in pest proof containers (even in your vehicle). Move aside, we enjoyed our stay.

Love the lakefront spots!

Cultus Lake has so much to offer, water slide, amusement park, small grocery store, golf course, restaurants etc.

We love Delta Grove for the lakefront sites & there's a sani dump at Maple Bay campground.

Fantastic swim spot

If swimming is your thing, this is your place. A beautiful swimmable lake with several provincial campgrounds dotting the edges.

Pros:

The lake is amazing, clean, clear and dark

Super family friendly

Teapot Hill hike is nearby and lots of fun for the whole family

Cons:

One check-in for all the campgrounds

Bird poop on the beaches

Commercial attractions you have to drive past to get to the campground (it’s like the candy along the checkout lanes at Walmart, hard to get your kids through)

A family favourite is the hike at teapot Hill. There is so much to see and spot and it seems to change every time we hike it. The view at the summit is pretty good too.

Five star location and camground

Took our five and three year old here! We had plenty of space to spread out our tent, neighbours were far enough away to be comfortable, and the grounds were well kept. Rangers drove by daily to check campsite reservations, cars, check on noisy campers etc. the washrooms were clean and usable and we walked to the lake. Very happy we stayed here and would come back again!
