A brief introduction to Great Seal State Park
Hopewell Culture National Historical Park is a United States national historical park with earthworks and burial mounds from the Hopewell culture, indigenous peoples who flourished from about 200 BC to 500 AD. The park is composed of four separate sites open to the public in Ross County, Ohio, including the former Mound City Group National Monument. The park includes archaeological resources of the Hopewell culture. It is administered by the United States Department of the Interior's National Park Service. It was designated a part of Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks World Heritage Site in 2023.

Not a normal state park
We came here after finding that our site at Hocking Hills SP was unusable, we could not get our small van level. Hocking Hills is a typical state park - over regulated, cramped sites, most of the campers bring at least 2 vehicles and plenty of rules.
Great Seal is old school. Good level sites all with privacy and forest views. Really liked the place.
Close to the Hopewell National HIstorical Park, now a Unesco World Heritage Site. If there is a gold seal for places to visit it's Unesco and Hopewell will wow you with what the indigenous people did over 2,000 years ago.
