Campgrounds and Camping Options
William O'Brien State Park offers two main campgrounds, along with camper cabins and group camping areas. There are 124 total campsites, four camper cabins, and four group camps.
Riverway Campground
Riverway Campground is open seasonally from mid-April to mid-October. It includes 114 sites, most of which can accommodate RVs and campervans up to 60 feet in length. The campground offers 30-amp electric hookups, flush toilets, hot showers, and a sanitary dump station. The restrooms and showers are ADA-accessible, and three designated accessible campsites are located close to these facilities. Visitors can choose from shaded or open campsites, depending on their preferences.
Savanna Campground
Open year-round, the Savanna Campground is ideal for off-season camping. This campground includes sites with 50-amp electric hookups, which are especially useful for RV travelers in colder months. While modern restrooms and the dump station are unavailable during the off-season, vault toilets and the nearby Visitor Center restrooms remain open for use.
Camper Cabins
The park also features four rustic camper cabins, three of which are available year-round. These cabins sleep five to six people and offer a more comfortable camping experience without the need for a tent or RV. Each cabin includes indoor seating, a picnic table, and a fire ring outside. Although they do not have running water or indoor plumbing, they are located close to campground restrooms.
Group Campsites and Walk-In Sites
William O'Brien State Park has four group camping areas that accommodate 35–50 people each, located near the river. There are also two walk-in tent sites for those looking for a more secluded experience.
