Manning is the Best
Have been camping here for 30 years and the sites are awesome. The park if beautiful. Lots of places to hike. The lake is fun, a little cold, but still fun.
The best campsite in BC
We adore Manning Park and Lightning Lakes for so many reasons! It's a special spot for our family, but we love that it's family friendly, accessible from the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan areas of BC, has a lot of sites, and the area is great to explore. You almost always need to book ahead, and Campnab actually helped us last year "nab" a spot here for the BC-day long weekend.
Here are just a few more perks:
Lightning Lake is a delight, super-swimmable, and the chain lake areas are fun to explore by kayak, canoe or paddle board
If you camp, you'll always have a parking spot when it's the weekend, since the day-use area fills up quite quickly, plus you also have access to a little private beach
There are hikes and outdoor activities galore in Manning Park - our favs are Windy Joe, Skyline Trail and Frosty
The campsite itself is clean, the staff are really friendly, and has wood for fires. The photo is from the day-use area. If you can't get a site here, check out Mule Deer, Hampton or Coldspring, or the LL small loop!
