Definition of national park service (NPS)
A U.S. federal agency that manages national parks, monuments, and other essential properties. Congress created the NPS in 1916 to conserve certain natural/historical settings and wildlife to protect them for future generations. This agency works to preserve the integrity of these places and keep them accessible for public use.
