Definition of glissade

(noun) The act of sliding down a steep snow or ice slope.

(verb) To slide down a steep snow or ice slope, often in a controlled manner using an ice axe or other gear.

(noun) After reaching the summit, we excitedly prepared for the thrilling glissade down the snow-covered slope, which would significantly shorten our descent time.
