Yes, you can get in

Sugar Pine Point is located on a rare, quiet section of the Lake Tahoe Rim Drive. It's one of our favorites. It's a very large campground just outside of the hamlet of Tahoma.

There is a BIG bear problem here. They will scavenge around the campsite loops every evening looking for left out food. They are not afraid of people screaming, banging pots and pans together, or the honking of your car horn. They will come right up to your picnic table even. You must keep a super clean campsite, don't even spill crumbs. We love it here, thanks to Campnab for helping us get a spot. During our 3 night stay there were a lot of "no shows"

Always the BEST

This is something like our 12th year going to Sugar Pine Point SP. You'd think at some point you'd seen everything there was to see...hiked every available trail -- twice...ridden every mile of bike paths...experienced each sunrise and sunset to a point where you just knew it was time to move on. Well, not Sugar Pine! We LOVE the proximity to north Lake Tahoe as well as a quick drive to South Lake Tahoe. We love paddle boarding and kayaking on the lake. We love the MANY hiking trails -- from beginner to hard core -- that are literally steps from your campsite. Are there bears? Yeah. Are they in your stuff? Absolutely. Must you watch every...little...thing you leave out so that they won't destroy it? Definitely. But, it's also neat to see a glimpse into the "wild" by seeing the bears. Just follow the rules to the "t" so that we don't make these wild animals tame...and thus disrupt God's perfect plan for man and beast. But, most of all, go camp at Sugar Pine...it won't disappoint! (This year we ONLY got in because of Campnab! Seriously, it was amazing how slick it worked and got us our favorite group site!
